What is osteopathy?<\/a><\/h5>\n

Osteopathy is a manual therapy that takes into account my psycho-bio-social context.<\/p>\n

Who is osteopathy for?<\/a><\/h5>\n

What is the purpose of my osteopathy session?<\/a><\/h5>\n

The aim of my osteopathic session is to help me regain better mobility in the various structures of my body. To reduce or resolve my discomfort or pain. My osteopath is my ally in helping me to feel better in my body. <\/p>\n

How does my osteopathy session work?<\/a><\/h5>\n

My osteopathy session consists of 3 phases:<\/p>\n

My osteopath begins with an anamnesis, or focused discussion of my reason for consultation, my symptoms and my medical history, in order to create my medical file.<\/p>\n

In a second phase, my osteopath will rule out potential pathology and establish a diagnosis by carrying out medical and osteopathic tests.<\/p>\n

Finally, in a third phase, my osteopath treats me with adapted manual techniques.<\/p>\n

At the end of the session, my osteopath can still give me advice to help me actively improve my condition.<\/p>\n

What training does my osteopath have?<\/a><\/h5>\n

In Switzerland, my osteopath holds a Master of Science in osteopathy or its equivalent.<\/p>\n

Throughout his career, my osteopath has the obligation and duty to continue training every year.<\/p>\n

Does my osteopath "crack"?<\/a><\/h5>\n

My osteopath at Swiss Osteo is trained in so-called \u00ab\u00a0structural\u00a0\u00bb or \u00ab\u00a0articular\u00a0\u00bb techniques. The choice of these techniques depends on the individual and his or her pathology. <\/p>\n

If I only want gentler techniques, I talk to my osteopath, who will be able to adapt to my needs with other effective techniques.<\/p>\n

For your information, cracking is not painful and does not mean that the joint has been displaced. It is simply the result of a small gas bubble being released within the joint, temporarily improving its mobility. <\/p>\n

How many osteopathic sessions do I need?<\/a><\/h5>\n

My osteopath will integrate my medical file and take into account my examinations in order to optimize my treatment.<\/p>\n

I can e-mail my exam reports to him or bring them to my next session.<\/p>\n

How long does my osteopathy session last?<\/a><\/h5>\n

My first session lasts about 1 hour and includes the creation of my medical file.<\/p>\n

My subsequent sessions last an average of 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

Is my osteopathy session reimbursed by my insurance?<\/a><\/h5>\n

My osteopathic treatment may be partially reimbursed if I have taken out complementary \u00ab\u00a0alternative medicine\u00a0\u00bb insurance. My osteopath at Swiss Osteo is recognized by the ASCA<\/a> and\/or RME<\/a> registers. Before starting a treatment, I contact my insurance company to find out the details of my contract concerning osteopathy. <\/p>\n
